Katrina Kaif Body-Shamed After Pregnancy, Hrithik Roshan Quietly Shows Support
Katrina Kaif faced body-shaming after appearing at the Ambani Ganesh festival with Vicky Kaushal. Hrithik Roshan liked a post defending her, while fans questioned why he did not speak directly.
Amid the backlash, Katrina's co-star Hrithik Roshan has quietly shown his support for the actress. The actor liked a social media post that called out trolls targeting Katrina, although he did not make a direct comment on the controversy. His gesture has also left some fans dissatisfied, with several saying that he should have spoken out more openly.
Writer Harshveer Jain shared a post on his 'storysellercomics' Instagram page, condemning the trolling directed at Katrina. In the post, Jain wrote that he had been a fan of Katrina and said that when a troll claims she is "finished" because of her post-pregnancy weight, he feels only pity for that troll. He further described Katrina as a successful mother, actress and businesswoman.
Hrithik Roshan, who has worked with Katrina in films such as 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' and 'Bang Bang', liked Jain's post without making any direct comment. While the gesture was seen as his way of supporting Katrina, some fans expressed disappointment and said that he should have spoken about the issue himself.
Katrina gave birth to a baby last year. Her fans have responded to the trolling by pointing out that physical changes in a woman's body after childbirth are a natural process and have criticised those making negative comments about her appearance.
Earlier, Pakistani actor Ali Zafar, who worked with Katrina in 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan', had also condemned the negative comments directed at the actress. He shared a video addressing the trolls and criticised the remarks being made about Katrina. Following his response, reactions also emerged on social media saying that Pakistani actors were better than Bollywood actors in such situations.
Katrina is not the first female actor to face body shaming over physical changes after pregnancy or at different stages of life. Actresses including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Bipasha Basu and Richa Chadha have also faced similar instances of body shaming in the past. Against this backdrop, Hrithik Roshan's public social media gesture in support of Katrina has become a talking point among fans.
